MUSSAR Pirkei Avot (18) Excuses Blocking The Door Of Heaven?
Unfortunately Today people are too scared to Teach what am yisrael really needs. if you want a personalized message for your life you can always find in Parshat Shavua.
Hillel Says in Mishna 2:6 A brutish man cannot fear sin; Don’t be an am haaretz, nor can the shy man learn, or the impatient man teach. He who engages excessively in business cannot become wise. In a place where there are no men strive to be a man.
There are certain things we have to do to get closer to HaShem. Hillel is telling us things which are very very critical. In Torah the order of words matters most. One has to be part of the community unless the whole community is rashayim then it’s better to be in Desert surrounded by scorpions. Do not have so much confidence in yourself till the day you die, Yochanan was a Cohen Gadol for 80 years and he became a koifer after 80 years, if a Cohen Gadol can fall then we should be very careful. We should always be careful of falling for Yetzer Hara. Don’t speak in acronyms. Don’t ever say i will study when i will be free as may be we will never get time. Rabbi Mizrachi told of a story of a young guy in NY who had drugs problem and the Rabbi Was trying to make him do teshuva and the guy made several excuses in not coming to Seminars and one day when he finally he decided to come the thrid time and he told the Rabbi his suit case was ready and when he did not come for the seminar, Motzei Shabbat no answer and then the Rabbi when he called a Mutual friend and he was told he passed away over a drug overdose.. Do not commit a sin and then say will do Teshuvah it’s a very serious sin. and never asay you will do it tomorrow..
We cannot treat HaShem as he is one of our buddies. we should not Judge/ Assume someone who is in pain.. Do not procastinate when it comes to Torah. Do not speak with 2 sides of mouth. It’s not easily possible to be a simple Jew ( a simple Jew is one who knows entire Torah)
A boor cannot be fearful of Sin.. A boor is someone who is completely empty and also no good middot/ no character traits. Someone who is completely hollow and Hillel tells us such a person is never fearful of committing a Sin. Shlomo Ha Melech says The beginning of Wisdom is Fear of HaShem. Any one who has small understanding of what G-d they will immediately be scared,
Someone who is am haaretz.. someone who keeps basic level judaism but does not want to grow nothing changes. The sages would not rely on such people for purity issues as the am Haaretz does not keep purity level such as Mikveh. they keep the mitzvots 50:50
In today’s world there is a misunderstnading who is Hasid.. it’s not who keeps a beard or wears Hat or wear black and white. Torah teaches us what does it means to be a Hassid it means actions… someone who is ultra careful of his actions , ultra careful ofwords leaving his mouth and even extra careful.Religious people in casinos/bars are doing chillul HaShem. As a Jew we have a serious responsibility to HaShem. The responsiblity is to represent HaShem at all times. In end of times the Leadership is going to do things which is opposite of People want.
SOmeone’s that shy can never be a good student.. someone’s who is shy to the point they are too scared to ask questions they do not know the value of what’s a mitzvah and what’s a sin. Trillions of dollars is not even a down payment of a small Mitzvah. Taharat Ha-Mishpacha is a must. Rav Efraim is an expert is Taharat Ha-Mishpacha.
