MUSSAR Pirkei Avot (17) Saving Jewish Communities With A Mirror

In Old days when people went to shiur Torah they had to travel 2-3-4 days Most of the Reward someone gets is going to the shiur. Why? The Gemara says the level of reward is different. The world is getting scarier to go outside either from immodesty or the shocking event’s happening. If we actually believe Mashaich is coming we should be ready.

someone has to learn torah and if someones stop learning Torah the rules of the world ceased to exist. it’s time to start building the neshama. Rabban Gamliel says only start enjoying the world only after fulfilling your obligation to HaShem . Our desire for material things is should be if we need it or if we want it. Nullify our Own Will for HaShem’s will .

Hillel said: Do not separate yourself from the community; and do not believe in yourself until the day of your death. Do not judge your fellow until you are in his place. Do not say something that cannot be understood but will be understood in the end. Say not: When I have time I will study because you may never have the time.

The board of Directors for a Synoguge is one of the historical tragedies in the past few hundred years. the board members must have yirat shamayim. It’s not possible to love HaShem without fearing HaShem. We are not allowed to be alone and separate oneself from the community but what if we are surrounded by Rashayim who call themselves Orthodox we r not be around them. we need to have a kosher Minyan and a Kosher Rabbi. The greatest Middah Am yisrael have is when they are poor.

Breing HaShem into your house.. Have Shlom Bayit. Where there is peace between husband and wife the shekinah is presence. we need to have a reason to move away from rashayim. Shulchan Aruch says you are not allowed to marry your daughter to an am haaretz or the son of am Haaretz.. According to Rav Ovadia Yosef ZTL someone who is michalel shabbat is an am Haaretz. When we want to leave an congregation we need to look into the mirror. To be a part of a community is critical when it comes to prayer as most of us cannot have 100% kavanah, if our tefillah is not very good it hits a road block in shamayim.

do not believe in yourself until the day of your death: : sometime when people do teshuva and keeping Kosher for few months they think they are gadol hador. Part of your neshama is like HaShem yitbarach himself. If you do not see Yirat shamayim from a Rabbi you r not allowed to learn from him . Rabbi Eliesha Ben abuyah

Dont write it unless you are okay with everyone seeing it. When you know a foreign language, don’t speak it in front people who don’t know.. it causes them sorrow .. and it rude. The Gemara says the only reason we stayed in desert 40 years was we spoke lashon hara against trees and rocks, Rambam says what punishment we will get when we speak in a language not know to others.

Say not: When I have time I will study because you may never have the time. Satan has different employees – demons and when ever you do a sin they are created and in shamayim they will reveal the sins. We cannot beat Satan but HaShem has given us a system , Torah is the potion, it is the only antidote against it. We should Chase Torah like how we chase money or desires.
